Atwater Karting is looking at No Prep Track for the 2015 Season. Wash tire with water only, also looking to promote LO206 for Rookie, Sportsman, JR 1 & JR 2 classes. These are to be discussed further at future meetings. Please watch for date & time of future meeting. Thank you!

If you do decide to go to a no prep track, I know of a few racers that supported the track last year that will not be back. I hope that you make an informed decision.

NO PREP is a GREAT IDEA.... Everyone will be on a better playing field. It will save racers money. It will make for better, closer racing...... Set your kart up and prep will not be needed to compete!!!!

I think this is a good idea - Plus if we think about the environment this is a real good thing. Its a change that Atwater is looking into doing. But I guess we should all go to the meeting and discuss it.

How will it be policed? Will it be a no prep track or no prep at the track? Will a tire be mandated? What about used tires that were prepped? Until the chemicals that prep are made from are banned there is very little that a no prep track will help the environment. Usually those who want no prep are those that don t want to do the work to their tires. The cost of prep is very small factor in a much larger equation. Smart efficient racer will have multiple sets of tires ready to go for all track conditions so the money will still be spent whether it's on tires or prep.

Need to brand the tires during safty tech, only 1 set of tires per class per night. That solves the problem of the money spenders having three sets of tires prepped ahead of time so they can choose the right set after hot laps, or change tires after each heat race !!

I think u guys should keep the prepping rule. How can u run a 5a ikf race and run ikf rules with no prep. Keep it a race track. Not a backyard play ground. I think no prep will hurt u guys even more.jmo

I don't recall anything in the rules that says you have to allow tire prepping to hold an IKF race! But we're only talking local shows here, and , again , branding the tires each nite would only allow each racer one set of tires per nite. You can always allow prepping for the " special " races that might come along.

As of know the track will stay a prep track. The lo206 will be a work in progress.
